The Murcia City Council promotes the Urban DNA Festival, which consists of low-cost interventions in the different neighborhoods of the city to address specific needs. These interventions target slightly degraded neighborhoods that require activation and improvement.

At that time, the city of Murcia decided to renew its entire urban lighting system, transitioning from VSAP streetlights to LED systems.

Similar to many cities in Spain and Europe, this replacement of luminaires did not follow a specific and controlled urban lighting project but primarily focused on energy savings, neglecting factors such as glare, light pollution, or selecting appropriate light levels and color temperatures for each space.
